I Medici di McGill Orchestra, a public outreach program of the Office of the Dean of Medicine is looking for additional players for its 31st season, 2019-2020. 
Immediate Need for Woodwind and Brass Players

The non-professional orchestra, conducted by maestro Gilles Auger, professor of conducting at the Conservatoire in Quebec, is comprised of faculty, healthcare professionals, and interested students.  Occasionally, we need extra players to complement our demanding programs.  This season we may require the following instrumentalists:
•    Oboe
•    Bassoon
•    French Horn
•    Trombone
•    Trumpet
•    Harp

The selected applicant agrees to play in up to 3 scheduled concerts and attend at least 3 rehearsals and the dress rehearsals for each concert.  Depending on how many concerts require the recipient’s instrument, the scholarship value is up to $750. Rehearsals are held Mondays evening in the McIntyre Building.

To be eligible, the student must be enrolled full-time in any music program at McGill University or other universities in Montreal, or the Conservatoire or CEGEP.  This should be especially of interest to students in non-performance programs and/or those who may be planning to pursue healthcare careers in the future.

Awards will be made based on competitive auditions, starting on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, 16 h, 5th floor of the McIntyre Building.
There is no guarantee that all the spots will be filled.
