Mission of I Medici di McGill... |

- Drawn from a talented pool of physicians, medical faculty, medical and other students, colleagues and friends, the orchestra brings a unique humanistic, artistic and social dimension to medical education and the medical profession. In 1989, Dr. Ante L. Padjen founded the orchestra with an aim to reinforce the study of humanities at the Faculty of Medicine.
- Now in its 36th Season (2024/2025), under the baton of Maestra Veronique Lussier, I Medici di McGill Orchestra provides Montreal audiences with the healing power of music through concerts benefiting the healthcare community and local charities. Members regularly provide soothing live music to patients in the MUHC Palliative Care Unit. The orchestra thus plays an important role as a public outreach.
- I Medici di McGill ensemble is distinctive as an institution at the University, perhaps the only organized activity at the University that brings over 65 staff, students, alumni and friends together for regular social interactions.
- The excellence and dedication of the orchestra, challenging repertoire and musical leadership of our conductors attract first-rate soloists including Phil Raphals, Caroline Chéhadé, Emmanuel Vukovich, Elisa and Amy Barston, Mark Djokic, Frédéric Lambert, Kyoko Hashimoto, Stéphane Tétreault, Martin Karlicek, Isaac Chalk, Frederic Bednarz, Jacqueline Leclair, Byungchan Lee, Eric Abramovitz, Joshua Peters, Jason H Biem, Jonathan Oldengarm, Qian Li, Michelle Taillefer, Russell Iceberg, Emily Oulousian, Julia Mirzoev, Joshua Morris, Waleed Abdulhamid, Trio de L'Isle, Maria Budacova...
